RECOMMENDATION:
     Flush system and replace filters when converting unit to a different oil

REAL WORLD:

     Oils With The Same Base:
         Drain
         Fill
         Replace oil filter

     Petroleum To Synthetic:
         Flush unit
         Replace oil filter
         Replace separator

     PAO To Diester:
         Drain
         Fill
         Replace oil filter

     Diester To PAO:
         Drain
         Fill
         Replace oil filter

     Diester To Polyglycol Or Polyglycol To Diester:
         Drain
         Fill
         Replace oil filter

     PAO To Polyglycol Or Polyglycol To PAO:
         Flush system with diester!!!
         Replace oil filter!!!
         Replace separator!!!
